For more than 24 years, Michael Gonzalez has assisted health care clients such as hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, nursing facilities, home health care agencies, physicians, and managed care organizations with their transactional, regulatory, contractual and other legal needs.

Through his experience representing both providers and managed care organizations, Michael has developed a unique perspective that has allowed him to successfully represent providers and managed care organizations in matters such as payment disputes and managed care contracting needs.

Michael also routinely provides regulatory advice to his health care clients under state and federal laws such as HIPAA, ERISA, STARK, the Federal Antikickback Statute, and the No Surprises Act. Compliance is with Medicare billing rules (and other health care laws) is one of the most important aspects of any health care provider's day-to-day activities. Michael has assisted many providers in establishing a compliance plan and conducting the billing, coding and documentation reviews required to demonstrate compliance with applicable law.

Michael has represented clients in court in health care and insurance related disputes, including a client in the highest court of Ohio, which resulted in a favorable decision that established the subrogation law in Ohio for over a decade.

Michael loves to spend his free time with his family, cooking up something on the barbeque, rooting for his favorite sports teams, or taking a jog through one of Toledo's amazing Metroparks.
